The Las Vegas Aces are quite a funny group, but how far can their humor go? A’ja Wilson, their leader, finds the off-court antics of the 2x back-to-back champions both annoying and scary, even leading to confrontations with her teammates.
During a recent episode of the Roommates Show, the 28-year-old shared her disappointment with one particular habit and how she deals with it.
“Oh my gosh! It’s really hard to handle. You can’t give any advice, you just have to ignore them. I even muted Syd, but I still see her tweets… that’s how scary it is. It’s like she’s always there…” Wilson expressed regarding her teammates’ social media activities.

“How does that work?” Josh Hart inquired. “Do you hesitate when you see that you need to view this person’s tweet? You don’t want to, but you think, ‘Ah, I might as well view it?’” Jalen Brunson added.
“Exactly! If it’s something related to me or my team in a strange way, I feel compelled to check it out. And then I’m like, ‘Oh great!’ So yeah, I don’t really have any advice. Just let them do their thing because it can get scary at times,” Wilson explained, mentioning Sydney Colson as the source of her concern.
Colson’s tweets have often sparked light-hearted controversies. For instance, when rumors circulated about Wilson dating Bam Adebayo, Colson added fuel to the fire. The 35-year-old posted a picture from the moment Adebayo received the keys to the city of Miami alongside a mention of Wilson winning gold in women’s basketball, insinuating a connection between the two.

In response to this, Wilson described Colson’s tweets as “scary,” likely referring to such activities. This wasn’t the first time Colson’s social media behavior caught Wilson’s attention.

During Game 5 of the Finals series between the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx, W Commissioner Cathy Engelbert wore a dress depicting the New York skyline, which sparked controversy. Colson later posted a picture in the same dress, possibly to mock the Commissioner, garnering attention amidst accusations of biased officiating in favor of the Liberty.

In an attempt to stop Colson’s humorous antics, Wilson responded with a tweet and reshared her teammate’s post. Yet, Colson continues to showcase her comedic side by tagging teammates in tweets and sharing updates, demonstrating a lighthearted approach despite Wilson’s efforts.
