Seahawks Elijah Arroyo out, Jalen Sundell questionable vs Colts

The Seattle Seahawks appear on track to return to the postseason for the first time since 2022, with an opportunity to move one step closer to that goal Sunday when they host the Indianapolis Colts at Lumen Field.

However, when they do take on the Colts, they will do so without the services of one of their young thoroughbreds, as the team announced Friday afternoon that rookie second round tight end Elijah Arroyo will not suit up against Indianapolis.

This is likely not a major surprise for those who have followed the injury reports this week, with Arroyo not participating at all in practice on either Wednesday or Thursday. Add in a just three days off after the showdown with the Colts before the Seahawks host the division rival Los Angeles Rams with first place in the NFC West and the top overall seed in the NFC potentially on the line.

Dareke Young’s designation as out is an indication that he will not return to the active roster, as when the team has move players from injured reserve to the active roster this season, those players have either not carried a designation or been given a designation other than out. That fact makes the designations of Questionable placed on Rylie Mills, Jalen Sundell and Eric Saubert interesting, as it would seem to hint that they could be activated this week.

As for head coach Mike Macdonald providing any hints about whether any of the three who are listed as questionable might be activated and play, well, he certainly provided zero additional insight when asked by the media Friday afternoon.

Thus, it’s on to the Saturday afternoon roster moves.
