The Seattle Seahawks are allowed only two games with their 1990s throwback threads. One of them was the previously announced Thursday Night Football meeting with the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 10. The other one? This weekend’s regular season opener against the Denver Broncos.
Rejoice, Seahawks fans! The team announced the great news on Monday.
The NFL amended its helmet policy back in 2022, greenlighting the Seahawks to bring back their old look when they were still in the old AFC West. Seattle’s first throwback uniform game was a thrilling 24-20 win over the Cleveland Browns last October, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba scoring the winning touchdown. In the second throwback game on the road against the Dallas Cowboys, the Seahawks lost a wild 41-35 shootout in one of the few punt-less games in NFL history.
This is your signal to go to Lumen Field this weekend and wear your throwback gear!
