The Seahawks are gearing up for a significant divisional matchup this week, holding a slim one-game lead in the division and a two-game lead over the last-place team. Their goal is to sweep the Cardinals and secure a tiebreaker against them. Unfortunately, Seattle will be without their leading rusher, Kenneth Walker, who is sidelined with ankle and calf problems.
Despite missing a couple of games earlier in the season, Walker leads the team in rushing yards with 542 and seven touchdowns. He also tops the running backs group with 38 receptions and 271 receiving yards. Although he was initially questionable, the team has ruled him out for the upcoming game.
Fortunately, Seattle has a capable backup in Zach Charbonnet, who performed well in relief of Walker earlier in the season. In those two games, Charbonnet racked up 129 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Overall, he ranks second in rushing yards among the running backs with 266 and five touchdowns, along with 29 catches for 204 yards and a receiving touchdown. With Walker sidelined, Charbonnet is expected to take over as the lead back in the game against Arizona. Kenny McIntosh will serve as his backup, with George Holani being brought up from the practice squad as a precautionary measure. Additionally, punter Ty Zentner has been elevated from the practice squad, likely due to Michael Dickson being listed as questionable with a back injury.
