The Brooklyn Nets embarked on a rebuilding phase by trading Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks and acquiring future first-round picks from the Phoenix Suns, which enhances their motivation to do so.
“This rebuilding process, do I anticipate it will require time? I believe we will approach it strategically,” Marks stated on Monday.
“But given our presence in this market and the number of draft assets we have, we have experience in this area. Therefore, I don’t expect it to be rushed, but I also don’t foresee it being a lengthy process.”
The Nets acquired the Knicks’ first-round picks in 2025, 2027, 2029, and 2031, the option to swap first-round picks in 2028, a first-round pick from Milwaukee next year, and a second-round pick in 2025.
“As an organization, it’s important to introspect and determine the best path forward for us, aiming for sustainable success,” Marks explained. “By accumulating this significant amount of draft assets in the past year, I believe it will benefit our long-term trajectory.”
