Although the Mexican Grand Prix is underway and Sergio Pérez is present in Mexico City, he will not compete in his home race this year, instead using that time to participate in a charity event and further his preparations for the new challenge. Beyond the track, Sergio Pérez has already visited Cadillac’s Charlotte headquarters and worked at Silverstone with the engineers, focusing on simulator sessions and cockpit setup.
“We’ll have some testing sessions in November,” Sergio Pérez said. “They’ll be very useful because we’ll be able to work with the mechanics and engineers to have the whole team ready for the testing programme that begins in January — where we’ll already be at 100 %.”
He added that the collaborative environment at Cadillac appeals to him: “It’s always great to have a team that listens to you, supports you and values you. That’s what every driver dreams of having.”
For Cadillac, this test outing is more than just driver laps — it’s a fundamental step in building team cohesion, track protocols and operational readiness for the upcoming engine era. With Ferrari’s technical backing and Sergio Pérez’s experience, the American outfit is positioning itself to hit the ground running in 2026.
