CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Six members of the University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team earned academic All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors for their performances on the court and in the classroom this season. Julia Andreach, Carrie Beckman, Page Freeman, Nibi Ghosh, Akari Mastuno, Bojana Pozder and Yashna Yellayi each earned the distinction.
All seven had previously earned Academic All-ACC honors prior to this season. This is Freeman’s fourth Academic All-ACC honor in her fifth season of competition, followed by Andreach with three, Beckman, Ghosh, Matsuno, Pozder, and Yellayi each earning their second honor.
This season, the Fighting Irish went 18-10 overall, going 7-6 in ACC play and finishing the season ranked 32nd by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Andreach led the team with a 20-3 singles record, earning Second Team All-ACC in singles and combining with Freeman to earn third team All-ACC honors in doubles. Freeman added 10 singles wins throughout the year as the pairing was 7-4 overall and 6-2 in league play.
Ghosh finished with 14 singles wins and 12 doubles victories. Matsuno finished with 12 singles wins, five in ACC play and added a 13-8 doubles record. Pozder finished 19-5 in singles with three doubles wins as Yellayi added seven singles victories and a 12-8 doubles record.
