US Soccer Coaches Release
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UNF women’s soccer has made history in their DI era, with Zara Siassi being named a United Soccer Coaches All-American. The national organization announced on Friday, Dec. 6, that Siassi has been selected to the fourth team, making her one of 48 Division I women’s soccer players nationwide to receive this prestigious honor.
All recipients will be recognized at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony and Reception on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, in Chicago, Ill.
“Zara’s selection to the United Soccer Coaches All-America team is a result of her hard work and dedication to the sport that she loves,” said head coach Eric Faulconer. “She has shown professionalism since the day she arrived on campus till her last game at Hodges Stadium. Zara has demonstrated what it takes to be the best every day, and coaching her has been one of the greatest honors of my career. Her contributions to our program are invaluable.”
North Florida is one of six mid-major programs in the country to have an honoree, with all other selections yet to be announced. She is one of two Atlantic Sun student-athletes receiving the honor, with Lipscomb’s forward Kiara Pralle joining Siassi.
In addition to being named an all-region pick alongside teammate Paige McSwigan last month, Siassi has earned numerous awards this season and throughout her career. The standout defender was named ASUN Defensive Player of the Year, the first Osprey to receive this honor. She also received academic honors, including College Sports Communicators Academic All-District laurels and weekly conference honors.
This season, Siassi had an impressive performance, starting all 20 matches for the Ospreys, scoring one goal, providing three assists, totaling five points, and playing an impressive 1,711 minutes. Throughout her career, she played 82 games, all of which she started, scoring twice, assisting on six goals, and playing a total of 7,079 minutes. Her games played and games started are program records.
