Skidmore College – Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach

Skidmore College’s Athletic, Fitness and Recreation Department invites applicants for a part-time, regular (9 month) Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning team practices and individual training sessions
• Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes
• Assist with coaching dual matches and tournaments
• Mentoring a diverse and vibrant roster of student-athletes
• Creating social media content
• Analyzing match and practice videos/scouting opponents
• Communicate and develop a rapport with student-athletes, families, faculty, and alumni
• Facility home game management and/or equipment room responsibilities during the academic year
• Ensure that the policies, procedures and regulations of organizations to which the College belongs including the NCAA and Liberty League are adhered to
• All other duties as assigned and deemed necessary and appropriate by the head coach

Qualifications:

• An Associate degree or equivalent with a minimum of three years collegiate tennis coaching and/or playing experience is required
• Candidate should be a positive, energetic, and trustworthy leader with strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work a flexible schedule
• A valid driver’s license and CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain) are required

Salary will be $15,000. There are potential opportunities for additional sources of income, including teaching youth and adult tennis lessons/camps throughout the year.

Anticipated start date will be September 1, 2024.
