The former Notre Dame standout is now in her 13th WNBA season and she is still shining on the national stage. In Diggins’ 7th All-Star appearance (1st since 2022) she made history by achieving the first triple-double in the games history. Not only did she set that mark, she also had the most assists in history as well. It was a stellar performance.

Despite setting multiple historical marks, team Captain Napheesa Collier earned MVP honors as Team Collier took down Team Clark 151-131. Collier herself scored 36 points, over 20% of the teams score. The two players were the clear standouts for Team Collier, but Napheesa took home the honors. At the end of the day, this is an All-Star Game with minimal defense and maximum offense. Stats will be accrued in impressive fashion. Despite who wins the award, it is going to an elite player every time. Much deserved honors by Collier.
The return to Indiana was a wholesome one for Skylar Diggins. Her history goes way back to high school when she led South Bend Washington to a state title. In her high school career, Diggins became the #3 scorer in state history and won Miss Basketball for the state of Indiana. A South Bend native, she of course went on to play for Notre Dame and her career was a stellar one. Ever since, her legacy has grown into what it is today. This weekend she came into an All-Star in front of her home state and put on a show.
Earlier in the weekend, the Seattle standout Diggins also competed in the WNBA Skills Challenge. As her game performance was a standout, the skills performance fell a bit short. Diggins came in last place for the event. As for the event winner, it was Natasha Cloud of the New York Liberty as she knocked off Diggins counterpart Erica Wheeler in the final round.
At the break the Storm currently sit at a record of 14-9 putting them in 4th place in the Western Conference. On the season Skylar Diggins lead the team in points per game and assists at 17.5 PPG and 5.8 APG respectively. Following a stellar weekend from the Storm, they will continue the season on Tuesday as they play host to the Dallas Wings. A playoff push is in store and despite tough company, Seattle will aim to make a run to their first title since 2020.
