SEATTLE — Rookie Angel Reese continued her impressive streak of double-double performances, notching her 12th consecutive one to help the Chicago Sky secure an 88-84 victory over the Seattle Storm on Friday night.
Reese had a career-high 27 points and 10 rebounds in the game. Leading the WNBA in rebounds (11.8 per game) and offensive rebounds (4.8), Reese shot 8-of-13 from the field, including making both of her 3-point attempts. She also went 9-of-10 from the free-throw line, hitting all her attempts in the final 20 seconds.
Her 12-game double-double streak ties with Candace Parker’s WNBA record across multiple seasons, spanning the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

“I don’t really think about it,” Reese commented on her double-double streak. “I just do my job on the court, which is rebounding. It’s what my teammates need from me, and I’m dedicated to fulfilling that role.”
Chennedy Carter contributed a season-high 33 points on 15-of-24 shooting for the Sky.
Reese’s crucial 3-pointer extended Chicago’s lead to 78-70 with 6:16 left in the game. Despite a late surge from Seattle, Reese’s free throws in the final seconds secured the win for Chicago.
Seattle had previously enjoyed a four-game winning streak, all victories by double-digit margins.
Jordan Horston led the Storm with a season-high 20 points, followed by Nneka Ogwumike with 16 points and Jewell Loyd with 13. Ezi Magbegor also made an impact with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and a career-high 8 blocks. Skylar Diggins-Smith finished with 12 points and nine assists.
Rookie Kamilla Cardoso put up 9 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks for Chicago.
