Socialing the Distance Episode 134
Featuring Brandon Miller,
member of Brooks Beasts Track Club
Brandon Miller is one of the finest 800 meter runners in the U.S., taking fifth in a PB of 1:43.14 in the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships, breaking a personal best by .38 from May 2025. Brandon Miller is from Saint Louis, Missouri, and was coached by his Mom, Angela, through high school. Brandon owned the World record for 14 year olds at the 800 meters in 2017. Miller went to John Burroughs High School in Saint Louis, running in cross country and track and field. As a senior Brandon Miller won the Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year in his senior season of track and field.
Brandon Miller then competed for Texas A & M. At Texas A&M, Brandon won an NCAA title at 800 meters, plus a 4x400m title, while earning All-American status four times!
Brandon then ran for Formula Kersee for one year, running a 1:45.30.
Brandon made the US World Championships team for Eugene in the 800 meters by placing third in the 800m final at the US championships. In Paris 2024, Brandon Miller had made the US Olympic team, and won his repechage, but did not move on to the final, placing fifth in the semi-finals.
Brandon Miller is a member of the Brooks Beasts Track Club, coached by Danny Mackey. I found Brandon to be a great interview: thoughtful, transparent and obvious an athlete who enjoys his sport.
This interview was done prior to the USATF Champs, held July 30-August 4, 2025. In his two plus years with the Brooks Beasts Track Club has transformed this amazing athlete from a very good 800 meter runner to a world class 800 meter racer and Olympian!
It is obvious that Brandon Miller has a strong faith in his creator, and his quiet confidence keeps him grounded as he makes his dreams a reality and pursues his goal of the LA 2028 Olympic team.
We wish him the very best!
Special thanks to Brandon Miller, and Brooks Beasts TC!
