Indiana Fever rookie Makayla Timpson took her talents to Europe following her rookie season in the WNBA. In the women’s Euroleague, the Fever forward has shown promise, impressing on both ends of the floor as seen in her highlights during games.
As posted by her Czech team USK Praha, Timpson blocked a layup, protecting the paint for her squad.
Her Fever teammates Sophie Cunningham and Kelsey Mitchell commended her for her fine play. Cunningham commented on the posts with two emojis to express her reaction to Timpson’s defensive play.
“😮💨😮💨,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Mitchell reposted the video on her Instagram story, where she posted a declaration for Timpson, who has a contract worth $217,640 with the Fever.
“THE baby rook!,” Mitchell posted.
Timpson appeared in 31 games for the Fever, where she averaged 2.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.3 blocks per game. During the team’s playoff run, she played in six games and put up 2.3 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.
Timpson was picked in the second round by the Fever in the 2025 draft after spending her collegiate years at Florida State.
Her EuroLeague stint will allow her to get reps for her upcoming sophomore season next year as the Fever looks to build on their impressive season, which ended in the WNBA semifinals, losing to the eventual champions Las Vegas Aces.
Makayla Timpson tries to model her game on Fever veteran
Makayla Timpson’s rookie year was uneventful, but for her, it was part of her learning process, especially as she learned alongside Fever veteran Natasha Howard.
According to Timpson, Howard played a big role in her growth during her rookie season.
“She’s been leading me the way, guiding me through this process and keeping my head on right,” she said. “I see the things she does and try to model myself after her and be as successful as she has been in the league.”
Timpson also expressed that she wants to continue learning in Indiana as she hopes to grow alongside the veterans in the team.
“I love wisdom. I love hanging around older people. Not saying they’re old in that way,” Timpson said. “But just getting that knowledge from them, they know a lot. I want to know as much as they know, and they can correct me anytime they can.”
Timpson is signed until 2027 with the Fever before a team option in 2028.
