Cunningham was in visible pain as she clutched her knee before she was helped off the court and to the locker room.
The Fever quickly announced she would return to the game.
Going into Sunday’s game, Cunningham was averaging 8.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 29 games.
Indiana has faced a number of injuries during a season it had lofty expectations. Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald will both miss the remainder of the year, and Caitlin Clark has dealt with quad and groin injuries throughout the campaign.
Clark has played in just 13 games for the Fever in her sophomore season. She re-aggrevated her groin injury during the Fever’s game against the Sun in July at TD Garden.
It’s unclear when, or if Clark will return this season.
The extent of Cunningham’s injury is unknown, but it would certainly would be another storm for the Fever to weather should she miss any time.
