South Carolina women’s basketball great Tiffany Mitchell is heading to the Las Vegas Aces. As reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Callie Fin on Friday and confirmed by the organization on Saturday, Mitchell and the Aces have agreed to a free agent contract. According to Fin’s report, she chose Las Vegas over interest from several other WNBA teams.
In Vegas, Mitchell will reunite with former Gamecock teammate and fellow USC legend A’ja Wilson. She brings a veteran presence and reliability to a team that needs quality bench depth.
During the rest of her WNBA career, Mitchell has played nine seasons for the Indiana Fever, Minnesota Lynx, and Connecticut Sun.
Last season, Mitchell played in 24 games for the Connecticut Sun before a health issue ended her season. Now, ready to play again, she joins one of the WNBA’s top championship contenders.

During her South Carolina women’s basketball career, Mitchell was one of the best players in program history. In fact, when her career ended, she probably was the most decorated Gamecock ever. Mitchell was a three-time All-American and two-time SEC Player of the Year. She made final lists for National Player of the Year honors three different times, as well. Mitchell now ranks in the top 10 all-time among USC players in games played (1st), games started (1st), 3-point percentage (2nd), free throw percentage (2nd), free throws made (3rd), points (5th), 3-point field goals (5th), steals (5th), field goals made (10th), and defensive rebounds (10).
Following her senior season, Mitchell was selected in the 1st round of the WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. She was the first 1st round pick in Gamecock history and just the 2nd overall WNBA Draft selection.
