The Golden State Warriors kicked off their NBA preseason with an exciting buzzer-beater win against the LA Clippers in Hawaii. Both teams conducted their training camps in Oahu, with Golden State practicing at BYU and the Clippers at the University of Hawaii.
Now back in California, the Warriors are set to take on the Sacramento Kings on the road for their second preseason game. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM PT on Wednesday evening.
In the preseason opener, Warriors’ star point guard Steph Curry played 14 minutes, scoring nine points, providing two assists, grabbing one rebound, and making one steal on a two for eight shooting performance.
Despite the common practice of resting veteran stars like Curry for some preseason games, he is included in the starting lineup for the Wednesday matchup against Sacramento.
According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Warriors will begin the game with Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Jonathan Kuminga, Draymond Green, and Kevon Looney on the court.
This marks a change from the preseason opener when Steve Kerr opted for Curry, De’Anthony Melton, Kuminga, Green, and Trayce Jackson-Davis. Kerr has been experimenting with different lineup combinations during training camp and has settled on this five-man lineup against the Kings.
While preseason outcomes hold little significance, observing trends can be crucial. The Warriors secured a narrow 91-90 win over the Clippers, with Lindy Waters III sealing the victory with a buzzer-beating shot.
