The discussion around the WNBA Rookie of the Year award has been heating up lately, with Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever and Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky vying for the honor.
Several basketball legends have weighed in on their pick for the award, and former Seattle Storm star Sue Bird recently shared her choice, despite her usual reluctance to give mid-season awards.
“I usually don’t like giving out mid-season awards, but currently, I’d say Caitlin Clark,” Bird revealed during an interview with Sarah Spain on Good Game.
Bird highlighted Clark’s skills during the podcast, particularly praising her three-point shooting ability as a standout quality among players in the league.
“Caitlin, in particular, stands out with her long-distance three-pointers,” Bird explained. “It’s a game-changer in women’s basketball and has brought a new excitement to the sport.”
Both Clark and Reese are set to make their All-Star Game debuts this weekend, following in the footsteps of Bird, who was a 13-time All-Star before retiring in 2022.
