Caitlin Clark made history on and off the basketball court in her debut season in the WNBA. She set records for most assists and points by a rookie in a single season, as well as drawing record-breaking viewership and attendance numbers. As she heads into the offseason, she is now looking to try her hand at a new sport.
Clark is scheduled to participate in the Annika driven by Gainbridge tournament on November 13th, and will also be a panelist at the Women’s Leadership Summit the day before. This will be her second golf event, after playing in the 2023 John Deere Classic Pro-Am alongside PGA Tour veteran Zach Johnson.
Her presence at the 2023 Pro-Am drew a large crowd, and she is expected to help boost attendance at the upcoming Annika event in November.
Following a successful rookie season where she led the Indiana Fever to the playoffs, the 22-year-old express interest in exploring golf. The LPGA eagerly welcomed her, recognizing her as one of the most popular female athletes worldwide.
Expressing her excitement for the Pro-Am tournament, Clark said, “I love golf, so the opportunity to play in a tournament like this with a legend like Annika Sorenstam is thrilling. Gainbridge®’s support for women’s sports is remarkable and evident through their commitment to me and the event.”
Clark has been a Gainbridge ambassador since her college days, joining other women’s sports icons like Billie Jean King and Annika Sorenstam. Sorenstam praised Clark for her efforts in promoting women’s sports both on and off the court.
Annika Sorenstam commented on Clark’s talent, saying, “I have been following Caitlin’s career during college and now in the WNBA, and her impact on women’s sports is remarkable.”
After finishing 5-under par at the 2023 John Deere Pro-Am, Clark’s competitive spirit will likely drive her to perform even better at the upcoming Annika driven by Gainbridge tournament next month.
