Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seattle Seahawks fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
It’s time for another Seahawks Reacts survey! This is the bye week edition, so there’s no game prediction to be had here. I doubt the confidence poll looks good after that overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams, but perhaps the performances of Jaxon Smith-Njigba and the defense may provide some hope.
Seattle now sits at 4-5 and dead last in the NFC West. Yes, the Seahawks are just one game out of first, but that can easily turn into two games and all of their rivals have games they should win (Cardinals vs. New York Jets, 49ers vs. Buccaneers, Rams vs. Dolphins) while Seattle is off. That distance could grow by the end of Monday night. Ignoring the records of the Seahawks’ NFC West counterparts, is 4-5 what you expected based on your preseason predictions? I had them at 3-6 but with a furious second half rally, but that’s looking unlikely.
On a similar note, the Seahawks have a brutal schedule after the bye. They’ll likely not be favored to win any of their remaining games outside of perhaps the New York Jets on the road. Does the current version of the Seahawks give you any confidence they can beat the Arizona Cardinals even one time? What about the San Francisco 49ers after the bye? The Chicago Bears could be interesting if they’ve checked out on Matt Eberflus, but it’s still a short-week game after a home game against the Minnesota Vikings. It’s more likely Seattle finishes with 10 losses than makes the playoffs, but perhaps you hold a different viewpoint that Seattle will turn things around after the bye.
