Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been sidelined for over a month with a groin injury, but she’d been battling through ailments even while she was on the floor. Her absence and limited ability when on the court has combined to create an incredibly challenging season for the Fever.
They’ve managed through it however, on the doorstep of clinching a playoff berth without Clark, but every game matters. Indiana took on the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday night in a game that was crucial to both teams’ playoff chances.

The Fever pulled out a nailbiter in the end, winning 76-75, but not before some brutal officiating sparked outrage from Clark’s teammate Sydney Colson, who is also battling injury.
Colson Calls Out Officials
Colson urged WNBA officials to give her teammate Kelsey Mitchell the same level of respect that the rest of the league gets. While Clark didn’t comment on the officiating, she cautioned Colson, “Careful you’re gonna get fined!”

With the regular season winding down, the Fever are gearing up for their second playoff run in as many seasons. It would be incredibly challenging to win a series without their reigning Rookie of the Year, but they’ve received some positive news on that front.

Clark has recently been more active with the team, notching a couple of shootarounds under her belt, which is a huge step in the right direction. While she ramps up, Indiana will try to clinch a playoff spot, so they can relax a bit and rejuvenate before her return.
If Clark gets back up to basketball speed quickly, then the Fever have a real chance to make some noise with their star point guard nearing full health.
