Unexpected appearances at PGL Wallachia S3
Among the direct invite teams, Aurora Gaming is certainly not on anyone’s bingo card. For one, Aurora Gaming recently released their Dota 2 roster without any announcement on the new line-up. While we now know the squad will be made up of former Team Spirit players, this is their first tournament together, so we’re not super hopeful.
On a different note, Team Tidebound also shocked everyone after defeating Yakult Brothers to secure the China qualifier slot. Considering the latter team had Wang “Ame” Chunyu as their player, it’s quite a feat for Team Tidebound to accomplish. However, this team is no pushover either, especially with veteran players, Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang and Zhang “y’” Yiping in their stack.
Favorites at PGL Wallachia S3
There are many favorites going into PGL Wallachia S3, notably Tundra Esports , which has been on a roll for winning BLAST Slam II and FISSURE PLAYGROUND #1. Team Falcons and Gaimin Gladiators are opponents that can give Tundra a run for their money at PGL Wallachia Season 3, especially with close their runner-up finishes. And Team Spirit definitely shouldn’t be counted out.
Underdogs in the making
It’s not oftent we get high hopes for an underdog, but with Sébastien “Ceb” Debs returning to OG there is a lot to be excited at the PGL Wallachia S3 just for this underdog squad. Of course, despite having the iconic OG nameake, this roster is still a far cry from its former glory. However, fans are hoping Ceb’s leadership can put OG back in contention at PGL Wallachia S3.
Finally, there’s HEROIC, who were the PGL Wallachia S2 Champions. As defending champions of the PGL Wallachia series, it’s looking grim for them to pull off a miracle against the other heavy hitters – especially given Tundra, Secret, Liquid, Falcons, and other favorites are all in the mix.
PGL Wallachia Season 3 Predictions
This is the first tournament that will be played fully on Dota 2 Patch 7.38 . While DreamLeague Season 25 was played partially on the patch, teams were adapting to a new update, rather than executing full strategies. But even taking this in account, we’d have to put our money on Tundra Esports or Team Spirit. These two teams have just been the most consistent teams in 2025.
If you’re looking for an underdog, we’d suggest looking towards Gaimin Gladiators – This team has traditionally done very well early in the patch cycle, before dropping off later as other teams catch up.
And, of course, we can’t forget about Team Falcons. This super team has certainly lost a step in the past few months, but is still able to upset their opponents given the chance – however a history of fumbling on LAN may mean they’re not the most obvious choice.
