Job Summary:
Reporting to the Head Women’s Tennis Coach, the Assistant Coach assists in developing a Division I competitive Women’s Tennis program. The primary function of the Assistant Coach will be to teach student-athletes the sport of Women’s Tennis. The Assistant Coach will evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes to Temple University whose athletic skills would allow the program to be highly competitive and whose academic abilities make such student-athletes excellent candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation from Temple University.
The Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach supports the Head Coach by providing leadership and integrity to the program set forth by the Head Coach, which includes, but is not limited to, creating, planning, organizing, motivating, communicating, and controlling aspects relative to recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, volunteer coaches and related booster clubs. The Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach is expected to conduct themselves in a manner representative of the University, the Department, and the sport both on and off the field of competition.
Required Education & Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of previous tennis experience as a collegiate coach and/or collegiate student-athlete.
- Experience administering Division I NCAA rules. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience fundraising towards the achievement of program goals.
- NCAA Division I experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and allocating a budget.
