The race consists of 14 laps around the course.
The race is quite entertaining despite the challenge of identifying the riders. Here is the link to PCS’ startlist: Startlist
The course is hilly enough to require riders in good form to win. EF/Vaughters takes the race seriously, setting a competitive tone for other teams. After the race, the desire to see these riders race more days over this course is common.
Recent winners have been climbers, including Mollema, Rui Costa, Powless, Nathan Hass, and Marco Canola. The race often ends in a small uphill bunch sprint, which is unique.
Key riders to watch out for:
EF riders, especially Powless and Archie Ryan, are in good form. Lidi Trek brings strong riders with Mad Pedersen, Bagioli, and Skuijns. Bahrain has Mohoric and Zambanini. Jayco has Simon Right Yates and Mauro Schmid. Israel’s Michael Woods has placed second before. Yukiya Arashiro will be racing in his last race of his career, having turned 40 last month.
