Francesco Bagnaia is dominating the 2024 MotoGP season. Despite a few errors in the sprint races, the two-time champion has been exceptional on Sundays, where the majority of points are earned.
His win at the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday marked his seventh victory of 2024, putting him well ahead of his rival Jorge Martin who has only two wins in the first 11 rounds. This victory also propelled the Italian back to the top of the riders’ championship, with a five-point lead over Martin.
Both Bagnaia and Ducati have achieved or surpassed several records at the Spielberg track, a circuit that has always favored the Desmosedici.
Not only has Bagnaia already matched the number of wins he achieved in his title-winning seasons in 2022 and 2023, but he has also claimed 25 premier class wins, placing him on par with Suzuki legend Kevin Schwantz in terms of victories.
Additionally, Bagnaia has now become one of the top 10 most successful riders in terms of race wins in the history of the series, surpassing Wayne Rainey but behind Dani Pedrosa and Eddie Lawson.

The Red Bull Ring is now the fourth circuit where Bagnaia has secured three or more wins, alongside Jerez, Mugello, and Assen. He remains undefeated at these tracks over the past three years.
Furthermore, Ducati’s success at the Red Bull Ring marked their ninth victory at the venue, making it their most successful track ahead of Qatar. Martin and Enea Bastianini also finished on the podium, continuing Ducati’s streak of podium lockouts.
In total, Ducati has achieved 17 triple podium finishes in the premier class, tying Honda’s all-time record in the category. Despite efforts from rival manufacturers, Ducati continues to dominate MotoGP.
