Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is undoubtedly the face of the WNBA, but it comes at a price. At 23 years old, she has already gained plenty of critics.

Earlier this week, Clark was at the center of a scuffle with Marina Mabrey and Jacy Sheldon of the Connecticut Sun. During the third quarter of Tuesday’s game, she shoved Sheldon after being poked in the eye. That led to Mabrey bumping her to the ground.
Initially, fans supported Clark for standing up to Mabrey and Sheldon. Upon further review though, some people have called out the All-Star guard for being a “flopper.”
“Referees are under no obligation to step in and protect Clark. Clark flopped,” Dakich said. “Mabrey did what good teammates do. Gave [Clark] a little shot. Should Mabrey have been thrown out? I don’t know… The truth of the matter is Clark flopped… her ass off. Technical foul on Mabrey… no ejection, good.”
Brandon Walker of Barstool Sports added, “She is an amazing player, she’s an awesome player, but she’s an absolute flopper.”

Things have gotten so out of hand that fans are reviewing clips from Tuesday’s Fever-Sun game. Most of them are accusing Clark of baiting Sheldon into fouls.

“Is this y’all goat fr? Caitlin Clark is the flop queen of WNBA and she sells it so her fans can have something to cry about,” one fan said.
“I agree that Caitlin is a troublemaker. Every time she starts a conflict, she hides and lets her fans attack and belittle other players,” another fan replied.
“The biggest flopper in the league! All the antics she does,” a third fan declared.
“All Caitlin Clark’s fault. Should have been ejected. That push after her flop was uncalled for,” a social media user said.
Truthfully, plays like this happen all the time in the NBA. It doesn’t make it right, but it’s not out of the ordinary.

WNBA referees could get ahead of this problem by either calling that an offensive foul on Clark or by swallowing their whistles.
For now though, Clark hasn’t done anything that warrants a suspension.
