The Baltimore Ravens looked poised for a statement win on opening night against the Buffalo Bills. But after a 15-point collapse in the late stages of the fourth quarter, the Ravens headed to 0-1. Now, a few weeks later, they find themselves at 1-3 with key losses to the Chiefs and the Lions.
Their Week 4 defeat to the Chiefs was a blowout and the most embarrassing loss of their season so far. Take a look at this stat that sums up their disastrous start to the season.
The Baltimore Ravens Are Struggling Bad
The Ravens have lost to three teams that are expected to be among the league’s best. The Chiefs, Lions, and Bills are among the best teams in the NFL. In PFSN’s power rankings, the teams they lost to are No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4. The Chiefs are flying up the rankings, and the Lions and Bills look like the top teams in each conference.
The Ravens’ playoff odds are plummeting. From one of the most complete squads to a 1-3 record, not many would’ve expected that.

Baltimore now has just a 42.1% chance to make the playoffs and a 26.1% chance to win the division, according to PFSN’s NFL Playoff Predictor. Shocking stat: the Ravens now have a higher chance of landing the No. 1 pick (.9%) than they do of earning the No. 1 seed (.8%).
To think that four weeks into the season, the Ravens have a better chance of being the worst team in the NFL than they have at being the best team in the AFC. But the Ravens would have to make up three games on the Bills if they wanted to take the 1 seed, and even then another team might be in position for the best AFC record.
The Ravens lost Lamar Jackson to a hamstring injury against the Chiefs. Cooper Rush came in as the Chiefs steamrolled Baltimore. The Chiefs are getting healthy, and their offense looks to be clicking into gear. The Ravens can’t afford to fall too far behind, and their playoff odds are already less than 50%.
The Ravens have the Texans and Rams up next. The Rams have been playing great football to start the year, while the Texans have been similar to the Ravens as they’ve struggled out of the gate. But they got a big win against the Titans and have momentum going into their game against Baltimore.
The clock has already started to tick for the Ravens, and it does help to have an MVP in Jackson on their side. They have the offensive weapons to support Derrick Henry and Zay Flowers, along with a lot of defensive talent; they just have to click it into gear.
It’s getting late very early in Baltimore, but of all teams to be in this position, the Ravens are one of the most likely teams to turn their season around.
