The city of Grozny, Russia, is gearing up for an action-packed night this Saturday, October 10, featuring three major bouts with World Boxing Association (WBA) titles on the line. The Coliseum Sport Hall will host the event, where the WBA Continental Heavyweight, WBA Continental Europe Super Middleweight, and WBA International Bridgerweight belts will be up for grabs — with all fighters aiming to make their mark on the world stage.

Undefeated Russian heavyweight Artem Suslenkov (12-0, 7 KOs) will take on Croatia’s Agron Smakici (21-2, 19 KOs) in a clash of power for the WBA Continental Heavyweight crown. Suslenkov, 30, has built a reputation on sharp fundamentals and a tight defense, while the 35-year-old Smakici brings a thunderous 90% knockout ratio and more than a decade of pro experience to the ring.

The height difference — Smakici standing 6’6” (198 cm) to Suslenkov’s 6’1” (185 cm) — and their contrasting styles promise a strategic chess match. The Russian will look to dictate the pace from mid-range, while the Croatian puncher will try to break through with raw power. The outcome could determine who emerges as a legitimate contender in boxing’s marquee division.

In the super middleweight ranks, local favorite Aslambek “The Hulk” Idigov (26-1, 9 KOs) is set to square off against Evgeny Shvedenko (17-2-1, 8 KOs) for the WBA Continental Europe title. Idigov, known for his relentless pressure and ability to cut off the ring, faces Shvedenko, a slick technician who excels at managing distance and tempo.

Both men are hungry for continental supremacy. Idigov, whose lone career loss still lingers, is eager to reaffirm his dominance in Eastern Europe, while Shvedenko seeks redemption after recent setbacks and a chance to climb back up the rankings. Expect a technical duel, with intense exchanges in the pocket and a battle of wits for control of the pace.

The night’s third headliner will feature Umar Salamov (31-2, 23 KOs) against Yury Kashinsky (22-3, 19 KOs) for the WBA International Bridgerweight title. Salamov, a former world title challenger at light heavyweight, has reinvented himself in the new 224-pound division, while Kashinsky — a heavy-handed brawler — remains a constant threat to anyone in front of him.

Both fighters bring elite-level experience and understand what’s at stake: a victory here could propel them toward the top of one of boxing’s newest and most intriguing weight classes. Salamov will look to rely on his movement and technical edge, while Kashinsky will press forward behind raw aggression and power.

The October 10 card in Grozny not only offers championship implications but also showcases Russian talent against world-level opposition in matchups that could shape the near future of three WBA divisions. Once again, the WBA continues to promote global development in boxing — and this event stands as a testament to that mission.
