WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark reflected on her outstanding year both on and off the court in an Instagram post on Tuesday. The post featured 20 images capturing Clark’s best moments throughout what she described as the “best” year.
Clark captioned the post: “My favorite moments from the best year. Time to make 2025 even better🖤📓💫.”
The first photo showcased Clark with her WNBA Rookie of the Year trophy, which she received after winning 66 out of 67 possible votes. She also shared a picture with teammate Aliyah Boston, who earned the same award in 2023.
Among the photos was one of Clark attending the “A Year in TIME” event in New York City, holding a copy of Time magazine with her on the cover as the 2024 Athlete of the Year. Additionally, there was an image of Clark playing golf and a collage of her pregame outfits.
Several photos included Clark with her former Iowa Hawkeyes teammates, capturing moments both on and off the court, including at a Hawkeyes football game. She also included photos with her boyfriend, Butler Bulldogs assistant coach Connor McCaffery.
Many photos featured Clark in a Fever jersey, including one with her best friend and former Las Vegas Aces guard Kate Martin, who was also her Iowa teammate.
Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin, drafted in the same class, a top moment
The bond between Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin, developed during their time as Hawkeyes teammates, was highlighted in the post. Together, they helped Iowa reach NCAA championship games in 2023 and 2024.
Martin supported Clark at the WNBA draft night in 2024, where she was picked as the 18th overall selection.
On X, the WNBA recognized this moment as the second top viral social moment of 2024.
“Kate Martin attended draft night to support her Iowa teammate Caitlin Clark. She walked away as the #18 overall pick to the Aces, made the final roster, and became a great success story in the ’24 rookie class,” the WNBA wrote.
Clark and Martin’s friendship extended beyond the court, with Martin playing for the Aces before being selected by the Golden State Valkyries in the expansion draft.
As Caitlin Clark achieved milestones in the NCAA and WNBA this year, fans eagerly anticipate her next moves in 2025 and the impact she will continue to make in women’s basketball.
