Dallas & Waco, TX – It will be Wake Forest and TCU who will be battling it out in the 2025 ITA Division I Men’s National Team Indoor finals. As the top seeded teams at the SMU and Baylor sites, the two powerhouses have been arguably the best teams to start the 2025 season and will have an early opportunity to go head-to-head for a National Championship on Tuesday.
In front of a loud and engaged crowd, both semifinal matches were what college tennis fans have come to know and love, showcasing the energy and excitement college tennis offers from the first serve to the last.
Beginning with Wake Forest, they took down Texas (3) in front of a very Texas heavy crowd in the first semifinal of the day. The Demon Deacons rode many waves of emotions throughout the match, winning doubles, falling behind in singles, and finally delivering a clinch on court No. 4 to earn the 4-3 victory. Ioannis Xilas came through in the clutch for Wake Forest, pulling away late in the third set to earn the Demon Deacons a spot in the finals.
In the days second semifinal, TCU took down Stanford (6) in what was a match they took full control over after claiming the doubles point. Earning the lone doubles point via match tiebreak on court No. 3, TCU carried the momentum into singles where they claimed five out of six first sets. Pedro Vives at the No. 2 singles line delivered the clinch for TCU with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Max Basing.
