Tracksmith is always a leader in innovative clothing collections and the release of their Olympics inspired line has hit a new high in a groundbreaking blend of historical sentiment and modern athletic functionality. You have to check out The Federation Collection which is available online now. Pieces include race kits and athleisure options to watch the Olympics in!
Taking inspiration from centuries of athletic ceremonies, the lifestyle of the modern amateur athlete, and the products an athlete receives from their Federation, the collection includes pieces for the opening ceremony, the village, race day, and – if all goes well – the podium. We created a capsule collection that blurs the lines between performance and style and presents an elevated take on the culture and heritage of the Games’ attire. For the standout piece, the Federation Blazer, we partnered with Emilie Hawtin of Clementina, who helped us source and select the best materials and a skilled tailoring atelier in Rome, Le Tre Sarte, where expert seamstresses hand made every single blazer, weaving classic Tracksmith details into a transitional piece embedded with the heritage of sporting moments. The Federation Blazer is available in-store now and will be available online in August.
Federation Track Suit
My favorite part of this collection is the Federation Track Suit. This classic combination of a jacket and pants is the perfect outfit to wear while watching the Olympic games. I can’t wait to slip into this beauty after a hard long run and watch the track stars compete for the Gold.
The first tracksuits were rooted in running, emerging in the early ‘60s on icons like John Carlos, Tommie Smith, and Wyomia Tyus around the same time that day-off leisurewear began to make its mark in French sports apparel. After being adopted by fashion in the subsequent decades, we elevated the classic cut for our Federation Collection, honoring the summer of sport. Our take is upgraded with a ponte fabric, a blend that leverages stretch, comfort, and durability, to craft the ultimate tracksuit jacket to toe the line between movement and rest. For the warm-up, for the podium, for the love.
Federation Track Jacket
Tracksmith’s take on a classic tracksuit jacket is crafted in an elevated cotton blend with a full-length zip, multiple pockets, and ribbed details. This jacket is perfect to put on before or after a hard race or workout. I already know that this tracksuit will be a staple in my fall racing collection. It is soft and warm, while allowing for movement and comfort. And, like all Tracksmith gear, this duo is eye-catching! The color combo will certainly turn heads as you grab a post-race coffee and to head to stretch.
Federation Track Pants
These classic tracksuit pants are also crafted in an elevated cotton blend with a straight leg silhouette, multiple pockets, and ribbed details. They have a straight-line rib down the front of each leg which is unique and flattering on any figure. And as I mentioned above this suit is made for stretching, relaxing or heading for a coffee post-race. Also…multiple pockets! Nothing more to say here.
Federation Racing Kit
There is nothing like Tracksmith’s tried and true racing kit. It is cool and breathable, ideal for even the most humid of summer days. The Federation’s colorway is perfect for August and September races.
Taking inspiration from athletic ceremonies and the lifestyle of the modern amateur athlete, we created a capsule collection that blurs the lines between performance and style and presents an elevated take on the culture and heritage of the Games’ attire. The Federation Singlet is crafted in the same lightweight mesh that’s featured across the Van Cortlandt Collection. The classic silhouette was the first piece designed at Tracksmith and is a longstanding staple for race day.
Federation Singlet
Tracksmith’s signature Van Cortlandt Singlet crafted in their lightweight 2:09 Mesh are featured in an exclusive new light colorway inspired by the ongoing summer of sport. This light color is just what we need for our sunshine filled summer days, especially for those races taking place on blacktop. The material is breathable, cool and comfortable for even your toughest runs. I had the opportunity to take this duo out for a long run in the 90 degrees and 70 percent humidity. The combo worked to keep me cool and didn’t chafe despite the sweat pouring off of me.
Federation Shorts
Tracksmith’s classic 2.5” Van Cortlandt Shorts are functional and flattering all in one style. This set is lightweight and perfect to close out the last month of summer racing. As we work on our summer build up runs, this kit will keep you looking and feeling good, while providing Olympic inspiration from our stars in Paris. I will be wearing this kit this weekend while racing in the Midwest and channeling the Olympic athlete grit.
Tracksmith has really hit the mark with this collection, and I encourage you to check out the Federation Collection while it lasts. The Olympics are only a few short weeks and will be over before you know it. Grab a few pieces from this collection and get in on the Olympic spirit for 2024!
