Daniil Donchenko prepares to make what he has described as his main stage UFC debut on February 7th. This will take place at this weekend’s UFC Fight Night, which features Donchenko in an intriguing welterweight matchup against promotional stalwart Alex Morono. When touching on what he wants to do in this UFC Vegas 113 contest against Morono on Saturday, Donchenko said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“I want to make my debut in a really exciting way and finish this fight in a brutal way, you know. Just enjoy my life after this debut and keep going forward.”
Alex Morono has been on the roster for a decade as of this year and has 23 fights specifically in the UFC cage. When breaking down some of the machinations of this matchup, Daniil Donchenko stated [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“Yes. It’s exactly great opponent. Here I should just show, not only win, I should do it in exciting way. I should do it in a great way. It’s not only about win now and actually the Paramount era, it’s not only about wins, not only about fighting. It’s about like some stories about some action and I’m a fighter who want to put action inside the cage. I will definitely do this. For me, it’s the most important.”
“It’s not the win, it’s [an] amazing fight. It’s a lot of exchanges, damage of my opponent. I hope you will see some blood on his face. I don’t care if it will be on my face. It still looks good, you know. So I just want to give people this emotion, you know. Like these feelings. So, just cannot wait to show it. To open my door and just fight inside.”
Daniil Donchenko feels “extra motivation” from UFC Vegas 113 variables
With the TUF champ’s excitement around the Paramount deal, and this being the first UFC Fight Night offering of the calendar year as well as the first under the new Meta Apex branding, Daniil Donchenko quipped [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“Yes, I’m the first in the first card to open Meta Apex for UFC Fight Nights. You know, before it was only Zufa, right, but not UFC. So I will be first. I will be in the first card in Meta Apex. We have some good bonuses, extra bonuses, and some extra motivation [laughs]. Now more people inside the Apex.”
“It will make me even more excited because I like when people scream, I like when people support, I like when people react, when I hit someone and people are like oh wow, I love it. So, now more people and I’ll be more excited.”
