Tyler Marsh is the new coach of the Chicago Sky, leading a team with promising young players Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso in the WNBA.
Confirmation of Marsh’s hiring came from his agent Andy Miller in a text message to the AP.
As the new coach, Marsh steps in for Teresa Weatherspoon, who was let go after one season where the Sky finished 13-27 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2018.
Marsh, 36, becomes the fourth coach since the Sky’s WNBA championship in 2021.
Prior to joining the Sky, Marsh was an assistant coach with the Las Vegas Aces, helping Becky Hammon and the team win consecutive WNBA titles before being eliminated in the semifinals this year.
His coaching experience also includes time with the NBA’s Indiana Pacers and the G League’s Mad Ants in Fort Wayne.
Marsh played college basketball at UAB and Birmingham-Southern.
