“DANA ANNOUNCEMENT INCOMING,” the promotion’s post on X read. “The Boss Man ( @DanaWhite ) will be going LIVE on Instagram later today!”
At this point, it’s a total mystery what White has planned for UFC fans. However, it’s unlikely it will be a fight announcement for any of the promotion’s first few cards of the year, which are already fully booked. Unfortunately, it’s also unlikely we’ll get any news about the anticipated UFC White House event, as that’s still about five months away.
That being said, the UFC is currently in a major transition period, making the switch to Paramount after years of broadcasting on ESPN. It’s possible White could be making an announcement about some kind of new programming or something else pertaining to the Paramount deal.
Fight fans await first UFC card of 2026
One way or the other, UFC fans are chomping at the bit for some MMA action. It’s been exactly one month since the promotion’s last card. Unfortunately, we still have more than 10 days until the first event of 2026.
That event will be UFC 324. The card, set for Jan. 24, will be headlined by an interim lightweight title fight between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett. The interim title will be in play to keep the division moving while undisputed champ Ilia Topuria deals with some issues outside the cage.
The UFC 324 co-main event will see women’s bantamweight champ Kayla Harrison defend her belt against consensus WMMA GOAT Amanda Nunes.
What do you think Dana White has in store for UFC fans this afternoon?
