UFC Hall of Famer Wanderlei Silva has shared that he is experiencing symptoms of CTE in his latest statement in the Le v Zuffa lawsuit.
Silva had 11 fights in the UFC, but his most significant accomplishments came during his time in Pride FC. Throughout his professional MMA career, Silva competed in a total of 51 fights and was knocked out seven times.
Among the fighters suing the UFC, Wanderlei Silva is one of them, stating that he requires the compensation due to experiencing CTE symptoms.

“While competing in the UFC, I sustained several significant injuries, including concussions. I am concerned that I may have suffered traumatic brain injury (TBI) during my career and am now observing symptoms associated with TBI and CTE such as depression, mood swings, and irritability. Unfortunately, no established treatment for CTE exists,” Wanderlei Silva revealed.
“I struggle with sleep apnea and have difficulties with sleeping and breathing. I have undergone four surgeries on my nose, one on my face, two on my left knee, one on my right knee, and one on my elbow,” Silva disclosed.
Wanderlei Silva has encountered numerous injuries that necessitated surgeries. Additionally, he has endured brain damage leading to the onset of CTE symptoms.
