Doogan is one of 10 players nationally to earn a spot on the prestigious list and one of three representatives from the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Broomall, Pa. native has been dominant for the Spiders this season, leading the team in scoring and rebounding. She is averaging 16.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 56.1% from the field and 35.6% from deep.
The Becky Hammon Award, first presented in 2020, recognizes the top player from one of 26 mid-major conferences. Five finalists will be announced in early March, with the winner revealed during the NCAA Final Four.
Doogan and the Spiders are back in action tomorrow, as the team plays host to Saint Joseph’s at 8 p.m. with the game being nationally streamed on Peacock.

Doogan has improved her shooting from inside the arc this season, jumping from an already strong 56.5% last season up to 65.5% this season, good for 24th in the nation. That improvement of 10 percentage points is the second-best improvement year-over-year among players to attempt at least seven 2-pointers per game on at least 50% shooting.
