Unlimited Off-Road Racing will grow to four rounds in 2025 with the debut of the Reno 600.
Situated in northwestern Nevada, Reno serves as the finish line for Best In The Desert’s Vegas to Reno event scheduled for later in August. The former Wild West Motorsports Park short course track, which previously hosted the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, was also located just outside the city.
At a whopping 600 miles, it stands as the longest race of the four and one of several new long-distance desert races in Nevada for 2025 alongside BITD’s Nevada 1000 Invitational and the Battle Born 1000 presented by the Legacy Racing Association and Valley Off Road Racing Association. The series plans for it to be a single loop event, though specifics such as a set date have not been revealed yet, aside from it being held in late spring following the Parker 400 and Mint 400.
“We couldnbspare absolutely ecstatic about the 2025 season,” stated series CEO and co-owner Matt Martelli of the Martelli Brothers. “With the addition of the Reno 600 and the comeback of our signature events, we are dedicated to delivering an extraordinary experience for both our racers and supporters. Each race offers a distinctive challenge, and we are eager to witness the off-road racing community unite to celebrate the sport we adore.”
The season kicks off with the Parker 400 in Arizona, which was reintroduced in 2024 under Martelli management after taking over from BITD. Parker replaced King of the Hammers on the schedule for 2024. Cole Potts and Larry Heidler emerged as the winners in the Unlimited and Limited Races in January.
Two months later, the renowned Mint 400 in Las Vegas will occur. Adam Householder and Ronnie Anderson secured victories in the most recent edition.
The California 300 was established by the Martellis in 2022 and will conclude the season in October. Householder and Brayden Baker claimed victories in 2023. The 2024 race is scheduled for 2–6 October.
Participants must compete in all races to qualify for the championship. Completion of Parker garners 35 points, while finishing the Mint and California races awards 45 points each; additional points are distributed based on finishing position, with the winner earning 100 points, second place receiving 95, third earning 91, and so on in descending order.
The championship debuted in 2023 exclusively for trucks before expanding to include bikes and UTVs.
