USC WBB legend A’ja Wilson signs 6-year Nike contract extension

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Legendary University of South Carolina (USC) women’s basketball alum A’ja Wilson is reportedly making headlines again.

ESPN has reported Wilson is signing a six-year contract extension with Nike in one of the highest-paid shoe endorsements in the history of women’s basketball.

No exact figures of the Nike deal have been released as of yet, but sources indicate the endorsement is on par with those of Caitlin Clark, JuJu Watkins and Sabrina Ionescu.

The superstar was announced as a Nike signature athlete back in May and is currently awaiting the release of her “A’One” shoe in Spring 2025.

Wilson is the most decorated athlete of any sport at the University of South Carolina, according to USC. She was the first three-time SEC Player of the Year in the history of the league, and she was the program’s first four-time All American, three-time First-Team All-American and four-time First-Team All-SEC selection.

After her graduation from South Carolina, Wilson was the No. 1 overall draft pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft, getting selected to play for the Las Vegas Aces.

2025 is shaping up to be another year of successes for the basketball champion, as USC is set to retire Wilson’s jersey in her honor at a pregame ceremony on Feb. 2 ahead of the Gamecocks’ game against Auburn.
