UTR Sports, renowned for its premier tennis and pickleball rating systems, as well as its exceptional tournament management software, has released the first part of its 2025 UTR Pro Tennis Tour (PTT) calendar.
The upcoming year will see a significant expansion of the UTR Pro Tennis Tour on a global scale, with an impressive $11 million investment aimed at supporting up-and-coming professional tennis players. The first three months of the 2025 PTT schedule will include over 100 events held across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.
While other tennis organizations are reducing their investments in professional tennis, UTR Sports is increasing efforts to enhance the development pathway for emerging pros. The recent partnership with Sportradar has paved the way for this extensive expansion.
“We are excited to introduce this significant expansion of the UTR Pro Tennis Tour,” said Mark Leschly, Chairman and CEO of UTR Sports. “With over $11 million invested in up-and-coming professional tennis players worldwide, UTR Sports demonstrates its dedication to the global growth of tennis and support for this crucial career stage for tennis players.”
A notable aspect of this expansion is the introduction of a $500,000 player incentive pool, available to eligible participants. More details on how players can access these funds will be provided soon by UTR Sports.
Now in its fifth year, the PTT aims to provide players with increased opportunities for competitive matches and financial rewards. The upcoming tour in 2025 will more than double in size, with approximately 450 tournaments and 20,000 matches scheduled. The PTT’s popular round-robin weekday format allows players to compete in multiple matches per tournament, reducing travel and other costs. Additionally, the tour will maintain its seven- and eight-day event formats, while introducing new four-day tournaments to cater to more player requirements.
Several players who started their careers on the PTT have achieved success at the highest levels of professional tennis. At the 2024 US Open, 39 former PTT competitors participated in the main draw, including Li Tu, a five-time PTT champion from Australia, who faced four-time Grand Slam winner Carlos Alcaraz on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Another PTT graduate, Alex Michelsen, has broken into the ATP Top 50 and is set to compete in the ATP’s year-end showcase event for young talents. Michelsen’s journey began on the PTT, where he secured titles in 2021 and 2022.
Rising star Iryna Shymanovich, who competed against Aryna Sabalenka at the 2023 Roland Garros, has participated in all four Grand Slam qualifying events this year. Despite her achievements, she still competes in PTT events, recently winning two $25K titles.
Fans can watch live PTT matches on Amazon Prime, with streaming available to over 1.6 billion tennis fans globally.
