The WNBA All-Star weekend is approaching, and the league is growing rapidly as more people discover the high-quality, competitive basketball played in the “W.”
Recently, the WNBA announced a significant partnership with New Balance, aiming to expand its presence in basketball and advocate for women’s sports. New Balance is now an official partner of the WNBA.
Adding to the excitement, Vanessa Bryant, widow of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, revealed a customized pair of Nike Kobe 6 Protro “WNBA All-Star” PE’s on her Instagram Stories.
The Nike Kobe 6 Protro features a striking design with green accents and a hot pink upper, reminiscent of the popular Reverse Grinches released in 2023.
Available in adult and kids sizes, this exclusive Kobe 6 is likely reserved for the Bryant family and a few select individuals. It is uncertain if Nike athletes will wear this colorway during the upcoming games.
Kobe Bryant was a vocal supporter of the WNBA and women’s basketball. Following his passing, the league honored him and his daughter Gianna with an advocacy award in 2022.
While there is no confirmation of an official release for the “WNBA All-Star” Kobe 6, the exclusive sneakers may make their debut in Phoenix this weekend. Stay tuned to Sports Illustrated for all the latest footwear news in sports and beyond.
