Orc Group’s The Scouring sits firmly among the most exciting new RTS we’re looking forward to this year. Now, shortly after unlocking mod support even before its August 12 early access launch, we’ve received a new trailer which gives us a taste of “the timelapse of making a level” with the game’s level editor.
The official press release also confirms The Scouring will be part of TactiCon 2025, an event which “gathers over 106 recent and unique strategy games by long-established studios to solo indie game developers.” Straight from the latest press release:
“Former Saber Interactive developer, Pavel Zagrebelnyy, creator of Spintires and MudRunner, is thrilled to announce that The Scouring, available in Steam Early Access on August 12th, will also be featured during TactiCon 2025 from July 17th – 21st.”
The Scouring aims to bring back uncomplicated old-school RTS vibes and fast-paced action that’s welcoming to newbies while also packing the depth veterans want out of the genre. Of course, all the community-created content and full Steam Workshop support will be the icing on the cake… if there’s a positive response to it. So far, it’s looking quite promising and we’re hoping for the best.
