Sabrina Ionescu rocked the appropriate attire for the New York Liberty’s championship parade in New York on Thursday.
The Liberty star guard was soaking in the celebration amid a ticker-tape parade down the Canyon of Heroes in downtown Manhattan after winning the first WNBA championship in franchise history.
Ionescu donned a custom-made championship jacket for the parade. The right sleeve of the black leather varsity jacket sported patches with all the series scores from the Liberty’s championship run, 2–0 over the Atlanta Dream, 3–1 over the Las Vegas Aces, 3–2 over the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Finals and a WNBA trophy patch.
The front of the jacket had a patch with the phrase “Liberty has a nice ring to it” and another one that said “Yerrrnescu,” which is Ionescu’s catchphrase. The left sleeve had a large “S,” which is her logo.
The championship parade was a fitting end to a magical season for Ionescu, the No. 1 pick in the 2020 WNBA draft.
