INDIANAPOLIS —The NCAA announced that the semifinals and finals of the 2025 Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament will be held in Indianapolis at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University. The semifinal games are scheduled for March 31, with the championship game set for April 2, 2025. This marks the second consecutive year that Indianapolis will host the final games.

“Indianapolis did a fantastic job hosting our first Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT). We are excited to return to Hinkle Fieldhouse in 2025. The local community’s enthusiasm and support for women’s basketball in Indianapolis continues to grow. We are eager to expand on the success of last year’s WBIT and crown a champion in 2025,” said Lynn Holzman, vice president of women’s basketball.

“Our hosts from the Indiana Sports Corporation and Butler University set a high standard with their hosting of the 2024 event, and we are looking forward to seeing how they enhance the student-athlete experience in 2025,” said Barbara Burke, Former Deputy Director of Athletics, University of Iowa, and chair of the WBIT selection committee.

The NCAA-owned and funded 32-team WBIT postseason tournament provides 100 postseason opportunities for Division I women’s basketball teams through its two events (the 68-team championship and the 32-team Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament). Selections, pairings, and brackets for the 2025 WBIT will be announced on March 16, 2025.
