I haven’t touch base on this post in a long time. Forgive my absence. The last post was in April of 2020 when the 100,000 mile mark was reached. As of this post the total is 114,211. The plan now is to continue into 2025 until 115,000 is reached and retire from 2 wheel biking (at 75 the adventures of the Chicago Lakefront Trail are getting a little too hairy for me).
This project began in April of 1976 and will culminate in a half century of biking (annual average mileage being 2,300). The journey was not without it’s misadventures including a dozen serious crashes including the one that nearly killed me in September 2014.
I am interested in hearing from anyone else who have undertaken something of this magnitude. If an email is provided I can forward the spreadsheet to show all this was accomplished.
