If you’re curious about the various herbalism modifiers in War Within and their effects, you’ve come to the right place. This article will cover everything you need to know to prepare for playing World of Warcraft’s new expansion.
Just like other professions, herbalism is a valuable way to make gold without spending too much time crafting. Therefore, the information in this article can be beneficial to you.
The War Within Herbalism Modifiers Explained
Herbalism nodes can come with different modifiers such as Altered, Camouflaged, Crystallized, Irradiated, Lush, and Sporefused. Most of these are considered Elemental types, except for Camouflaged and Lush.
Altered
Altered herbs have red and orange discoloration from exposure to the Black Blood of the Old Gods. Harvesting them will infect you with Horrific Poison, slowing your movement and combat abilities for a minute. You can counter this by harvesting a Crystalline herb or ore, which grants Crystalline Empowerment and immunity to the poison.
Altered herbs are rare and usually found in tough areas like Hallowfall and Azh-Kahet.
Overload
Overloading altered herbs transforms them into Twisted Lashers, dropping Writhing Samples. These samples are valuable materials used in professions like Enchanting and Tailoring.
Camouflaged
Camouflaged herbs are invisible until revealed. Herbalists specialized in Sporefused can see hidden herbs affected by spores.
Overload
Cannot be overlaid.
Crystallized
Crystallized herbs have a shimmering appearance and give Crystalline Empowerment, boosting your stats. They can also cure poison and be grown in Rich Soil.
Overload
Overloading creates a portal to a nearby deposit, accessible with the Crystallized specialization skill.
Irradiated
Irradiated herbs glow and throw you backward when picked. Gather using Slow Fall or Goblin Glider Kit to manage the knockback effect.
Overload
Overloading allows you to duplicate herbs temporarily, reducing the knockback effect with specialization.
Lush
Larger versions of herbs, Lush herbs provide increased yield and quality. They can be mulched with the Mulching specialization under Botany.
Overload
Cannot be overloaded.
Sporefused
Sporefused herbs trigger visions and can be grown in Rich Soil. Upgrading the Sporefused tree allows you to see Camouflaged herbs.
Overload
Overloading Sporefused herbs causes a reaction, revealing nearby herbs with various effects.
