The WNBA has experienced one of the biggest surges in viewership this year. The association reported 2024 had the “most-viewed regular season ever across ESPN platforms with an average of 1.19 million viewers.” Plus, with rising star players like Angel Reese and Flau’jae Johnson, it seems like everyone has their eyes on these stunning women athletes.

But, one woman athlete rises above the rest with her stats. A’ja Wilson, center for the Las Vegas Aces, is the leading WNBA scorer of the 2024 season. The 28-year-old is a five-time WNBA All-Star, three-time WNBA MVP, and the most decorated athlete of any sport in South Carolina history. With impressive game highlights and lucrative brand partnerships, fans and onlookers alike wonder, what is her net worth?

A’ja Wilson’s Career Trajectory

A’ja Wilson had a dominant high school basketball career at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in South Carolina. She led her team to a state championship and earned multiple national honors, including the Naismith and Gatorade Player of the Year awards. Wilson was the top-ranked recruit in the 2014 class.

When it was time to move to the next level of her basketball career, Wilson chose to play for the University of South Carolina. From 2014 to 2018, she played for the Gamecocks under coach Dawn Stanley, a Black woman. While in college, Wilson secured the 2017 Most Outstanding Player Award. Plus, her team secured the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship title that same year. In 2018, she was named first overall pick at the WNBA Draft.

On February 2, The University of South Carolina retired Wilson’s No. 22 jersey. It now hangs in the rafters at Colonial Life Arena where a statue of Wilson is also outside of the main entrance.

Sports Success Highlights

Since being drafted for the Las Vegas Aces, Wilson has had many accomplishments. This includes helping earn her team two WNBA titles in 2022 and 2023 respectively. She led the Las Vegas Aces to winning the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup title in 2022. In 2024, the athlete became the Aces’ highest leading scorer of all time to date, with 4,301 career points. That same year, Wilson secured the 2024 KIA WNBA Most Valuable Player Award, her third time winning the honor. To top things off, in 2024 Wilson had the single greatest scoring season in WNBA history, averaging 26.9 points per game.

Feats Outside of Basketball

Wilson has made strides both on and off the court. In 2024, she authored her first book “Dear Black Girls: How to Be True to You.” The novel details her life and lessons she’s learned along the way. It also became a New York Times Bestseller.

In 2019, she created the A’ja Wilson Foundation. The organization aids dyslexic youth with resources and promotes literacy. Inspired by her own struggles with dyslexia, Wilson also provides mentorship and scholarships. The foundation supports underserved young people through community programs, ensuring equal opportunities for academic and personal success.

Endorsements and Deals

As a superstar WNBA athlete, Wilson has racked up tons of deals and endorsement throughout her career. Her latest, according to ESPN, is a multi-million dollar contract extension with Nike.

It’s presumably one of the largest shoe deals for a women’s basketball player. Wilson first teamed up with Nike in 2018 as a rookie. Then, she and Nike announced earlier this year the release of her first ever shoe, the “A’One.” The signature sneaker is releasing in 2025, before the start of the WNBA season.

Wilson has also partnered with Gatorade, Mountain Dew, and Ruffles, showcasing her marketability beyond sports. She collaborated with watch manufacturer Tissot, highlighting luxury and performance. Additionally, her deal with DICK’S Sporting Goods supports women’s sports initiatives. These endorsements reflect her dominance on the court and her cultural impact, making her a key figure in promoting brands that align with her values and fanbase.

How Much Is A’ja Wilson Worth?

Multiple sources, including NBC Olympics claim that Wilson’s net worth is somewhere between $2 million and $3 million dollars. This amount includes her on-court achievements, endorsements and deals. Allegedly, as of 2025, Wilson’s annual WNBA salary is around $200,000.
