The Las Vegas Aces drafted Kate Martin with the 18th pick in the second round of the WNBA Draft. Martin was left unprotected for last week’s Golden State Valkyries Expansion Draft. The Valkyries picked her with the sixth overall pick. Martin is a promising young player who brings great potential to the Valkyries.

As a rookie appeared in 34 games, averaging 11.5 minutes and 2.6 points per game. Although her role as a rookie was small, Martin can be a good pickup for Golden State. As a senior at Iowa, Martin averaged 13.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. She also shot 50% from the field and 37% from beyond the arc.
