Caitlin Clark made history once again as a WNBA rookie by starting in the All-Star Game on Saturday.
Clark, playing alongside Angel Reese, became part of the first rookie duo named to the All-Star team since 2014. She set a rookie record with 10 assists in the game, but struggled with scoring.
In 26 minutes on the court at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Clark scored four points on 2-of-9 shooting, going 0-for-7 from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, Reese had a better performance, achieving a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Before the game, Clark expressed her lack of nerves: “I don’t get nervous for any game. I think more so just excitement more than anything. There’s been a build-up to finally get to the game, because you are here all weekend and have so many events to go to and so many things to do. Everybody is just ready to play the game.”
Unexpectedly, Team WNBA emerged victorious against Team USA with a score of 117-109.
