The second season of Unrivaled, a 3-on-3 women’s professional basketball league, tips off on Monday, Jan. 5, in Miami with four games.
Former Iowa women’s basketball star Kate Martin will return to play in the upcoming season of the 3-on-3 basketball league Unrivaled. Martin, a member of the WNBA’s Golden State Valkyries, played in Unrivaled’s inaugural season in January 2025.
Martin played in six games for Unrivaled in 2025 as a member of the Laces, averaging 8.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per contest. In 2026, Martin plays for a new Unrivaled team, which features several other high-profile women’s hoopers.

What is Unrivaled?
Unrivaled is a 3-on-3 basketball league founded by WNBA All-Stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier in 2024.
Eight teams play an eight-week season from January to March in Miami, and players earn an average salary of $222,222 (compared to the WNBA’s reported average salary of $119,590).
During its inaugural season, games were played in the “Unrivaled Facility,” which has a capacity of 850 fans. The venue also includes a training facility, childcare room, content creation hub and a fan zone area.
Unlike FIBA or Olympic 3-on-3 basketball, Unrivaled games are played on a full court, with baskets at each end. Games will be played with four seven-minute quarters.
The league averaged 221,000 viewers on TNT and truTV during its first season, with the league’s championship featuring Rose BC’s victory over Vinyl BCÂ drawing 364,000 viewers.
What Unrivaled team is Kate Martin on?
The 25-year-old Martin will return to the league in 2026 with the Breeze BC. Martin will play alongside teammates and Unrivaled first-timers Paige Bueckers and Cameron Brink, among others.

The 2026 Unrivaled women’s basketball league tips off on Monday, Jan. 5, on TNT, truTV, and streaming on HBO Max. Games will air Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
