Miami Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead surrendered three sacks in 2024 — the same total as the three previous seasons combined — yet it was arguably his best season since signing a five-year contract with the Dolphins in 2022.
The five-time Pro Bowler played 821 snaps, his most since 2020. He was called for just three penalties and surrendered 11 hurries while appearing in 15 games. Armstead graded out as PFF’s third-best left tackle last season — but what’s next after 12 seasons in the NFL?

At 33 years old, Armstead has a salary cap hit of nearly $23 million and a dead money number of $18.5 million if released before June 1. That cap hit goes down to just under $8 million, with $15 million in savings if designated as a post-June 1 cut, according to Over The Cap.
“Terron and I had a conversation briefly yesterday,” Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said last Tuesday. “We’re going to talk again here sometime in the next few days or coming weeks. But also knowing that this will be – we’re going to have to invest in the offensive line now.”
The Dolphins drafted Patrick Paul last year to eventually take over for Armstead, but he is among the league’s best tackles — when available. Considering Paul’s potential and Armstead’s talent and injury history, who do you think should anchor the left side of the offensive line?
