Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Walker Buehler may make his return to the mound during the series against the Milwaukee Brewers, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. This information was shared by Dodgers Nation’s J.P. Hoornstra.
While the Dodgers-Brewers series kicks off on Monday, it is expected that Buehler will rejoin the Los Angeles rotation in the second or third game of the series on Tuesday or Wednesday.

“Walker was strong in his performance yesterday, pitching into the sixth inning, which was very promising,” Roberts stated. “His performance and overall condition indicate that him starting for us in Milwaukee is a real possibility.”
Buehler likely concluded his rehab assignment on Thursday with Oklahoma City. He impressed by retiring 13 batters in a row, striking out five, and allowing just one hit in 5 2/3 innings. This outing marked his best performance in Triple-A.
Throughout his rehab stint, Buehler’s four-seam fastball averaged 94.1 mph. He showcased his top three pitches in Thursday’s game.
This was only the third time this season, across both majors and minors, that Buehler pitched into the sixth inning out of 17 starts. The Dodgers are eager for quality starts like this from their starters.
After being on the injured list for 15 days due to right hip inflammation, the 30-year-old Buehler is set to return. The Dodgers rotation has been impacted by injuries, with players like Tyler Glasnow, Clayton Kershaw, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto also spending time on the IL. Buehler’s return is a welcome development for the team.
During his three rehab starts with Oklahoma City, Buehler recorded 14 strikeouts and allowed nine runs on 16 hits.
Despite dealing with several injuries this season, the Dodgers have seen a number of players nearing a return, including Buehler, Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, and Tommy Edman.
“Things are progressing well,” noted Roberts regarding the injured players. “I’m feeling positive about it.”
This news comes at a crucial time for the Dodgers as they aim to maintain their lead in the National League West division race. Currently, they hold a 2.5-game lead over the San Diego Padres, with the Arizona Diamondbacks trailing by just 3.5 games.
With Buehler rejoining the rotation, the Dodgers are bolstering their lineup with key players essential for a successful postseason run.
